Runners High

When I started running, I thought that runners high was a myth.
How wrong was I, for when I first felt it, my mind rocketed high.
The more I run, the more I experience the mountainous greatness.
What is this though? A battle? A war?
In the red corner is runners high, in the blue, runners fatigue.
Blow by blow, each fight it out only for the winner to be runners high.
Thank goodness for I would not run if the legs always failed me.
Championed by the battle won, I enter and enter and enter and oh bugger,
enter another run.
The bank is empty and the wall weighed down in medals but that runners high, lets face it, it’s better than….
